Work Experience

Worked as an Artemis planner and system developer on ARTEMIS 6000 planner tools at Aker Verdal. The work consisted in programming tools being used in planning building offshore installations and reporting towards Aker Verdal’s customers.

From 1991 to April 1997, worked with maintenance and installation of LAN-Manager / Windows for Workgroups Computer network with 15 servers and around 450 pc’s.

The network was based on a 10mbit Ethernet both coax, twisted pair and optic fibres. Components mostly came from 3Com. Servers was based on both OS2 and Windows NT. In conjunction with this work, I did installations and general maintenance of the company’s park of computers.

From 1993 to 1997 I did work with further development of a computer system being used by Aker Verdal for detail planning and reporting from the building process of offshore installations. Working as a planner, did help a lot in making this system usable for the users.

The system were made with Oracle V7, with supporting Oracle programming tools, SQL*Plus, SQL*Menu, SQL*Forms, SQL*Reportwriter (Unix, DOS and Windows)

It is a client/server system where the client application runs on both MSDOS and Windows. The Database runs on a Hewlett Packard UNIX system – HP UK 9.0. On this machine I did maintenance work.

Have worked with development of course material, planning and have done training of 160 employee’s in the use of General Computer use, operating systems, computer network, Windows and Word. The course did also contain quality assurance of computers, data and software. Safety and quality assurance of internal and external treats as viruses, safety procedures and other destructive treats.

From 1992 I have had maintenance responsibility of Aker Verdal FDV system, a system for repair, maintenance and storage control. The storage control did contain both procurement of the day to day usage in addition to tools and production equipment. This system did run on a ND 5300/100CX machine running the Idhammar system of storage, procurement and economy.

I have worked in a team to develop the Helpdesk function for the company’s 2500 employees. In this work I did develop a help desk system which should keep track of and report all the order for service and support, and the follow up of these. The experience from this system was aggregated as experience into a database, which were used by the Help Desk functions phone lines. The same system did contain modules for equipment registering, repairs, equipment location. In addition there were modules for software and documentation.

From 1995 I did work with IT coordination between the company’s customer and cooperation partners working in Oslo with both Kværner Engineering and Phillips Petroleum. The work consisted in coordination for Aker Verdal IT responsibility and use of IT technology with both customers, partners and own employees. In this period I was IT coordinator for these projects:

EKOFISK 2/4X jacket, EKOFISK 2/4J jacket, EKOFISK U00 productionmodule, VARG well head platform, OSEBERG ØST jacket and HEIMDAL/JOTUN well head platform.

- My programming experience is as follows:

I have worked with assembler programming, and then especially on the Motorola 68xxx family. This in addition to 3rd generation languages as C#, Pascal, Basic, Lingo and Kmann. Plus the work with 4th generation languages as Oracle SQL is a defined platform to support on when working with Microsoft internet tools, programming tools and others such as: HTML, Access, Visual Basic, Java Scripting,  Flash, Shockwave (Lingo) and ColdFusion.

I have been one of the basic team members in design and content production to DataPower Norge AS – SkillMaster CD-Rom training platform. I worked as a group leader for the Multimedia team using the tool Adobe Premiere for interactive videos for training.

The work with DataPower Learning Online demanded the use of new technology. So my task since 1999 was to develop and implement a working model where the content could be taken from the CD-Rom to the internet. This demanded greatly reduction in data size, and the new technology Flash and Shockwave was able to do this.

The system was made like a simulation engine which was programmable by a database and a recording system to play animations, to simulate the real program. This way of making the content ensured short development time for generally rather big numbers of animation.

This ended up to be a relatively thorough platform used in more than 300 of Data Powers products. The software was developed using Macromedia Director.

From 2001 I have worked with Multimedia UK and Scheidegger Training MIS in Luton England. Making various animations and systems for training and testing. I did make the content and platform development of Scheidegger Training Online, a system for doing training online on the internet the last two years. (www.scheidegger-online.com) This work has given me experience in VB script, JavaScript and ColdFusion.

From 2003 I have worked as Product Manager at ViewStart AS, Steinkjer where my tasks has been planning, programming and design of a Flash and MS .NET based web publishing application called ViewStart Vision (http://www.viewstart.com)

From 2005 I have worked as Technical Manager at Tele1, a Telecom company where I have had the role in both programming and setting up the software for Customers, Customer relation, Logistcis and Storage systems for Tele1 customer database. The TLOG (Tele1 Logistics) platform was made solely in c-sharp Microsoft dotNET and is a thin client system running over the internet. As being the only technical person in Tele1 the tasks have been varied. Tele1 was founded in 2005 and I was one of the two persons building the company from scratch. (http://www.tele1.no)

In the same periode as working in Tele1 Communications AS I was also made a technical solution for one of the owners of Tele1. Kristian Mikkelsen, founder of EWAIT has employed me a few % in order to build a online music sales software which is used on their kiosks world wide. (http://www.ewait.no) For the moment I work as CTO in Ewait AS.

I have been running two personal companies:

Harald Sakshaug Data Consult (1994-95) and a company now, InfoTech Software Development ANS which makes support and decision programs for GP’s and hospitals. InfoTech has been a company since 1987, with two different owner structures, where I have been involved since 1997.

One of our deliveries is the “Lungen” program which is installed on all acute, gp offices and medical offices in Norway. (http://www.theipcrg.org/norway/index.php?action=viewlink&mem_id=14)
